That’s right, folks. Development on the first post-Cataclysm content update for World of Warcraft is well underway! We’ve opened up the Public Test Realms to bring players a healthy dose of the dungeons, class changes, and other features we’ve been working on for patch 4.1. “What will we find on the test realms?” you ask? (You did ask that, right?) Well, let me tell you!

After you finish building up the talents, you will want to make sure that your character has all the abilities, slotted right, keybinded, and all the macros needed. In order to increase your player’s efficiency, you will need to learn the importance of keybindings and macros. This will eventually allow you to use your character to its fullest potential.

We’re still hard at work on additional features, balance updates, and bug fixes for patch 4.1 and beyond. We look forward to sharing more information with you in the days and weeks ahead as development continues. Until then, have a look at the PTR patch 4.1 notes we’ve prepared. As always, these notes are not final and will continue to be updated regularly as we go through the iterative testing process, so be sure to check back often.

You will need to create a character before playing WoW. Your character will have a class and a race assigned to it. You will have to pick one of the two sets of players which are called factions. You choice of race will influence your faction. You will only be able to talk to other gamers in your faction. The look of your character will be additionally be determined by its race.
